Democratic National Convention, Philadelphia, 2016

The 2016 Democratic National Convention took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from July 25 to July 28, 2016, where where Hillary Clinton became the first female presidential nominee for a major U.S. political party, securing the nomination over Senator Bernie Sanders. The event experienced some internal party friction, notably when leaked DNC emails surfaced just prior to the convention, sparking protests from Bernie Sanders supporters outside the venue.

We met Barry Kauffman, the Executive Director of Common Cause Pennsylvania, at the entrance to FDR Park in Philadelphia during the Democratic Convention. Barry has been working with Common Cause for three decades fighting against and trying to reduce the overwhelming influence of money in politics.
