Perryville, Missouri: EF4 Tornado

On the night of February 28, 2017, a violent EF4 tornado with peak winds of 180 mph touched down just outside Perryville, Missouri, carving a 53-mile path across the Mississippi River into southern Illinois over the course of more than an hour. The tornado was part of a broader outbreak that produced 71 confirmed tornadoes across the Midwest.

Tim has lived in Perryville, Missouri since he was born. Tim's family of five were all home when the tornado came through their neighborhood, and all survived, including their "soup hound," by hiding out in the basement as the tornado swept their house away above.
