California GOP Convention, April 2016
The April 2016 California Republican Party Convention took place
in Burlingame, California. It was a chaotic event where Donald
Trump, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich courted delegates ahead of the
June 7 California primary. Because protesters successfully
blocked the main streets and security gates, Trump’s motorcade was
forced to make a U-turn. He had to hop a barrier and walk to a
back entrance
Ain't no power like the power of the people...
Outside of the convention hall, Donald Trump was greeted by a
couple thousand protesters who blocked the front entrances and
road access. (Trump made his way in using a service road,
navigating around and over concrete barriers, and into a back
entrance.) The police reported five arrests and one injury
during the day.
